Thanks Peter - I'll check that out too
many thanks Simon - I have seen COFE but not ploughed through it extensively yet - went through the entire 84 Sqdn record pdf with 380 pages yesterday looking at movement orders until my eyes bled!!
Thanks Peter - I'll check that out too
Many thanks Alex - this is the missing link I was after. I read that 53 Sqdn had Hudsons and later became 62 Sqdn and eventually merged with 225 Gp ending up in Sumatra/ Java in 1942.

Hi COL BRUGGY,
Just enquiring on how you came by this information, and if you were related to any of the men involved. Alan Dowson Dodd is my great uncle, and I know my grandad still sorely misses him. If there is any extra information you have would you be able to post it? I think some finality would really help my grandad. Many thanks,
Oscar
His service number is 1671632. Cheers.

Hello Oscar, welcome to RAFCommands,
My sources of information on the loss of 220 Sqn Liberator KG913, are as follows:
1/Personal files I have on 422812 W/O Neville Vincent RYAN RAAF.
2/ Go to: https://www.awm.gov.au/index.php/collection/C1252711 - download, then go to p.140 of 308.
3/ https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/Sear...aspx?B=5525970 - see:pp.9-10 of 25 - Mild Warning - potentially upsetting, be careful when passing on information to sensitive people.
Can't help with anything further.
Col.
Many thanks Col, your help is much appreciated.
Oscar
