Default Logbooks for pilot Bertrum Gladstone Hughes, J10234, of 426 Sqn

Have been loaned logbooks for the above - happy to scan for anyone interested. After training and instructing in Canada, Hughes flew ops on Lancaster IIs and Halifaxes and later flew for Air Canada.

Send me a PM or email.

    Hi Richard,

Afraid not. Just coded as 'C'. 'Ops - Boulogne'. Like many logbooks, some blocks of entries are by code, some by letter and a few by both.

    Hi Bill:

Re your PM, the following Lancaster IIs have serials and codes:

    LL687 'L'
    DS759 'C'
    DS772 'E'
    DS838 'J'

Also DS840 but not sure of the code letter. Looks like 'C' again but that is only three days after DS759 is recorded as 'C'... unless '759 was lost or reassigned as I don't see it again. DS840 was on an 'Air test - Sea and Search' and then appears regularly.

Can list the other Lancaster and Halifax serials, where listed, with dates as judging by Richard's post they may tie in with codes in the ORB.

Thanks Rob. My notes show DS840 as both "OW*C" and "OW*D".
