    Default Abbreviation - C.C.O.

    Can anyone tell what the above abbreviation stands foin the context of this sentence, please?

    "for instance, for Bomber Command to provide the crews required for C.C.O. operations,"

    the only meaning I was able to find is:

    CCO Confidential Communication Order, Air Publication 837 Handbook on Administration in the Royal Air Force

    But I am afraid it is not exactly what you are looking for.

    I believe it refers to 'Chief of Combined Operations'
