Default Six RAF personnel killed June 5th 1943, registered Louth

    Hello

I've come across the following six R.A.F. personnel, all killed on June 5th 1943 and all registered in Louth, Lincolnshire:

FORD, Robert William, LAC, 280426, aged 22
    HILL, Roland, LAC, 1054667
    RANSON, Charles, Cpl, 1540744
SAUL, Thomas, Sgt (Pilot), 1035974, aged 20
WALLIS, Frank, Sgt, 527572, aged 25
WATLING, Frederick Alfred, LAC, 1323752, aged 22

There was an accident on June 5th 1943 involving Blenheim IV T1986, of 1 A.A.S. at Manby, which swung on take off and hit two other Blenheims, T2242 and Z5788. No mention of any casualties though on the BCARS website or in Graham Warner's Blenheim book.

Does anyone have anything that can confirm the cause of the loss of these six men?

    Many thanks

    Regards

    Simon

    Hi Simon

It is mentioned in Warner's book (page 624, 2nd Edition).

Ranson, Saul and Wallis were in T1986 whilst the others were killed whilst working on the other two.

    Thanks Malcolm, much appreciated.

I've got the first edition of Warner's book - I really must get the updated one!
