PS. Sorry guys, brain fart & finger trouble on the title. It should read, "Casualties on Circus 39 to Lens, 8 July 1941", sorry.

    Hello

I have Sergeant MENŠÍK flying Z3327, but no idea of the individual letter, I know that Z5560 is what is written in the ORB, but this Hurricane is reportedly having been sent to Russia in October 1941 ??? I think I found Z3327 from the Air-Britain W1000-Z9999 book.

ZZ346 being coded ZT-S. Hendry flying P8470, possibly OU-S, but not confirmed, which was a presentation Spitfire, "FOREMOST".

MENŠÍK was an evader, as was DUVAL, and was KIFA on 22nd April 1943, flying a Beaufighter with No. 68 Squadron, and is buried near Coltishall, where he was based (Scottow cemetery).

    Hello Joss,

The book 'Gifts of War' shows only one presentation Spitfire named FOREMOST (presented by H.J. Heinz and Co.), that is R7277, a Mark Va of 611 Sqn. Lost on the same day as P8470 on an escort mission to Lille. Sgt Brian William Feely RNZAF, MIA.

    Hello Ray,

Don't have "gifts of war", was waiting for it to be on the bargain... Found several mistakes when I checked it when it was published, hence it was never high in my priority list.

I picked up informations from Spitfire: The New Zealand Story by Gerard S. Morris, Hardcover: 390 pages, Publisher: Raupo Publishing (NZ) Ltd (November 1, 2000), ISBN-10: 0790006960 ISBN-13: 978-0790006963 but will check later after work.
