I am trying to develop a background to Warrant Officer John Paterson White who was lost during the Giessen Raid on 6/7 Dec 1944. He was RAAF on attachment to the RAF and was posted to 227 Squadron at Balderton. His Avro Lancaster PB 646 was shot down by night fighters over Altenkirchen (en route to Giessen) with the loss of all the crew, now buried in the Hanover War Cemetery. John is the last of that line of my Family and I feel it important to honour him as much as I can. Hence I would be grateful for any information that might flesh out that part of his short life. I have his Papers from the Australian War Museum but would like to add meaning to the bare statistics.
