    Default Operation Firebrand

Has anyone got any information on "Operation Firebrand" which is recorded in a flying log for June 1945?

Google brings up a 1943 related operation with that name, but this is a lot later.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Regards

I have now obtained a copy of the ORB for 106 Squadron for June 1945 and it suggests that the squadron was using the "Tiger Force Training Syllabus" at the time, so I am not sure if "The Operation Firebrand" was part of this training. It also mentions "Rebecca" Exercises and "Y Runs".

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the "Tiger Force Training Syllabus" or have any information on any of these exercises / operations

    Regards

    Pete, Hi,
"Rebecca" was the airborne part of the Eureka/Rebecca system for improving the accuracy of the airborne delivery of supplies/personnel. "Y Runs" one can only surmise (in the absence of info to the contrary) that these were airborne SIGINT flights?

    Thanks for the feedback.

I came across a reference to Y Equipment (ie H2S) in a book today, so I think all these exercises (Rebecca / Y Run) related to radar navigation of some sort or another.

I still have not had any luck with the references to "The Operation Firebrand" which took place between 9th and 14th June 1945

    Hello Pete,

I am guessing in the UK as the flight times (from Metheringham) were between 1.50 hrs and 2.55 hours. I am wondering if any of the other squadrons who were training for Tiger Force were involved.
