    From my For Your Tomorrow - A record of New Zealanders who have died while serving with the RNZAF and Allied Air Services since 1915 (Volume One: Fates 1915-1942):

    Flare dropping over the Vimoutiers area, France
    226 Squadron, RAF (Hartford Bridge, Hampshire - 137 Wing, 2 Group, 2nd Tactical Air Force)
    Mitchell II FW216 - took off at 0030 and brought down 15km NE of Vimoutiers, crashing at Tordouet. All five crew were buried at the scene of the crash, the pilot and three RCAF members later being reinterred in the Canadian War Cemetery at Bretteville-sur-Laize, 15km south of Caen, while the RNZAF wireless operator-air gunner was reinterred in the Canadian War Cemetery at Dieppe.
    Pilot: NZ424460 Flt Sgt John Moore HART, RNZAF - Age 27. 435hrs. 16th op.
    WOpAG: NZ421966 Flt Sgt Leslie DUNN, RNZAF - Age 23. 245hrs. 14th op.
    Hart died a day short of his 28th birthday.
