    Default Munstang KH677 - 3 Sqn, RAAF

    Good afternoon All,

Checking the ORB of 3 Sqn RAAF, it seems that there is a page missing from the original document. I was looking for details on the loss of KH677. From A-B book, it was posted missing near Imola on 11 April 45, but does anyone know more about this loss and the name of the pilot involved?

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

The ORB (page 672 of 737) shows it was F/Lt JT Edmonds.

You can find your way to the ORB page via a link here:

On 11/4/45 3(RAAF) made five Cabrank patrols each of three a/c. The loss of KH677 is not recorded on Form 541. There is a list of aircraft casualties in the Appendices which has KH677 flown by F/Lt J T Edmonds 114755 (not certain of the accuracy of my deciphering) he is recorded as an "RAF pilot temporarily attached to this unit". The loss was "Presumed enemy action. Did not pull out of bomb dive and hit the deck". Edmonds is not listed on Form 541 and I cannot associate Imola with the details for the Cabrank patrols.

    Hello,

Edmonds had previously served in the Far East, on No.155 Squadron.
