    Default Hamburg (26th / 27th July 1942)

Does anyone have any information on the route utilised by 8 Group for this operation?

Also, does anyone have any information on the Air Sea Rescue Operation that took place on 27th July 1942?

Any help would be much appreciated as always.

    Regards

    Pete

Additional Information: There is reference to the ASR search in a previous post of mine (http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...ors-quot/page2) but I am still interested in finding out who was involved as an SOS was sent out that night by Halifax W7760

    Hi Peter,

I found nothing about routes for this night in Interception/Tactics Reports AIR14/3374. You might find it in AIR 14/3214 Raid plots : night 1942 July if you are lucky. These files seems to be far from complete.

    Regards,
    Peter

    Hello

Are you sure about No. 8 Group in July 1942 ? If you mean the Pathfinder Force, it was formed in August 1942, and became No. 8 Group on 8th January 1943. Is it a typo in your message ?

You are of course correct; No. 35 Squadron was actually part of No. 4 Group at the time .... I will put it down to a senior moment .... Apologies for the error
