Default WWII RAF Newfoundland,Canada, researching service number

Hello, new to this forum but I recently purchased a keychain with two tags that I now realise are RAF service tags, one has 8 sides green other is brown and round.I would like to find out more info and possibly identify the service man,#339855,(the last 5 appears to be and S but from other treads I assume this to be a 5.Below the # reads ''NORBERG'' any help with the name is it Norberg,or BERG,N.Orberg??The other side is "RAF'' self explanatory Royal Air Force.Below the RAF is the letters COE from other threads I have read would this be Church of England.Any help would be grateful. From a list of service numbers in another thread I see that 339855 would put this # in Newfoundlanders. As I am in Newfoundland I would like to find out more. These I found at a local sale on a keychain along with two coins with holes in the center marked 1944,that I have found out are from India.

    newf3636, Hi,

339855 is in the RAF Enlisted block "339801-340000 - Army Transfers Newfoundland, July 1940". My own 'dog-tags' are similar - but I can't actually lay hands on them at the moment. One was supposedly fire-proof and the other acid-proof? So, if they were all taken up then there would appear to be 200 Newfees who were in their own (Newfoundland? - it was before assimilation with Canada?) Army and who volunteered to transfer to the RAF. Did they serve in the RAF at large, or were they just 'locally employed'? Nice little research project finding all 200??!!

I'am I correct in assuming the S as a 5,I thought his name would have been something to do with ''NORBERG'' or does this have some other meaning. How do you know he was a COL does this have something to do with the ''COE'' UNDER THE ''RAF''.

Can't find a Roy Maxwell Locke in Air 78 unless there is a scan order error (which I suspect) as I think 'R' ends to early
