On 12/13 June, 1944, No.218 Sqn Stirling III EF181, piloted by AUS425802 F/L Charles Raymond Kerferd YOUNG RAAF(later DFC), veered off the runway at Woolfox Lodge, after the starboard tyre burst on take-off. The crew were uninjured. See: BCL5/280.

McKINNON, William Robert - the Scotland's People website's Stautory Deaths list states that he died at 4.30am at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, of carcinoma of the lung.
