Catalina JX257, Q/210, was airborne at 1030 on 02May45 for antisubmarine patrol NE of Faeroe Islands. SOS message received at 0038/3 from KJOR 1515, but no indication as to trouble. Plane last heard from at 0109.

    The following 9-man crew MIA: F/L N.W. Wraight (captain); F/Sgt. J. Uher (copilot); P/O J. McIlrath (navigator); Sgt. S.G. Perrett (F/Eng.); F/Sgt. R.F. Harrison (FME/AG); F/Sgt. K. Jerynes (1st WOP); F/Sgt A.W. Patterson (2nd WOP); F/Sgt. A.G.W. Payne (3rd WOP); W/O K.L. Roth (A/G).

To the best of my knowledge nothing was ever found of this aircraft.

    Thank you Ross & Ragnar,
for information. I tried to reach info about crew via CWGC and I had problems with F/Sgt. K. Jerynes (1st WOP) who is not mentioned in CWGC database.
What do you think about the reason of this loss? Any Idea?

    best wishes

    Hi Munro
I think there might be a typo in the system as I think the "missing" man is actually Jeynes as per-http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=1802093, which gives the right date and Sqn

    Hi All
I have just started researching my great uncle Jack Uher, who was the copilot on this flight. I was wondering if anyone has any information, other than what's on this thread, about this flight and what happened to it, also any info on the men on it or where I could find such information.
    many thanks
