Default David Thornton Smith War Artist

    Hi,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for the above artist, he did a number of oil paintings on 218 Squadron Wellingtons and Stirling's in 1941 & 1942.

    Any help most welcome.

    Thanks

A few years back I found the Imperial War Museum extremely helpful and well informed in the matter of Offial War Artists. There are several entries in their Collections list for your man, including. I believe, an interview. I would certainly enquire there, whether your man had 'Official' status or not.

    Hope this helps,
