    Default Wilfred Murray Theobald DFC

    Hi all,
A relative of this Navigator asked me for the cition of DFC of Flight Lieutenant Theobald.
I have seen that there are already a few threads from previous years in relation to Theobald on this forum

But I just wanted to be sure if new information has turned up.

For any information i would be grateful

THEOBALD, Wilfred Murray, A/F/L (116418, RAFVR*) - No.7 Squadron - Distinguished Flying Cross - awarded as per London Gazette dated 9 July 1943. Public Record Office Air 2/8964 has citation drafted when he had flown 29 sorties (177 hours).

This officer has completed a large number of operational sorties, many of them on Pathfinder duties. His operational record has been characterised by cool courage and accurate navigation in the face of enemy opposition. This officer’s success in his duties has been due to careful and accurate planning and disregard of danger in the execution of his plans. Flight Lieutenant Theobald has displayed courage and determination on all occasions.

You may find a more detailed recommendation in the file mentioned (at Kew).
