A question regarding raid photos. I have downloaded a series of raid photos from the National Archives, they are from raids with Mosquitos over Germany in 1945. They are shot at nightm, all black with white shapes and curved lines, as I understand these are search lights, fires, exploding bombs and flak fire. Each photo is marked with city (like Berlin or Munich), name of a flying officer, height, time and other information. Does anyone know how these photos were used? Was it just a proof that they had reached the target area? With no ground features showing they can not be of value for a photo interpreter, or am I wrong?

Any info regarding this would be great! /Richard
