Default RFC trade classification M. Cyc

My great uncle was in the RFC in 1917 and then in the RAF from April 1918. The RAF Muster Rolls (on FindMyPast) show his RFC Trade Classification as M. Cyc and that he was remustered to Air Force Trade Classification M. Cyc. What is M. Cyc? It's probably something really obvious that I should know but I don't!

The Muster Roll also shows that his RFC rank was A. Mech 2 - presumably Air Mechanic 2nd Class - and his new RAF rank was Private1. I'm guessing 'Private1' is Private First Class, would that be right does anyone know?
