Default Minimal safe height for Anti-Submarine Bomb 250 lb

Hi all, I would like to ask what was the minimal safe height for attack by Anti-Submarine Bomb 250 lb used in 1942 by Wellingtons of Coastal Caommand?
Once I have read it was 1,000 feet but I am not able to find the source now again.

    TIA

    Hi Pavel,

I no expert on this, and am not certain of the `minimal safe` height, if indeed there was such a thing? But having read various accounts of U-boat attacks, they seemed to vary from 50 feet upwards. I suppose it would depend on what depth the charges were set at also, but whatever height they were dropped from, the aircraft would be clear by the time they exploded.

    Regards
    Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for your commend, yes the minimal recommended height for Depth Charges were really 50 feet.
But my question is for 250 lb Anti-Submarine Bomb...
