Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has details on this daylight operation flown by three Short Stirling's of No.218 Squadron against the railway yard/station at Lingen on November 3rd 1942.

Details via the association and from Bill Jacksons book "Three Stripes & Four Browning" suggest the raid was laid on at the bequest of the Dutch Underground. It does seem a rather strange operation totally out of the norm for the squadron. I have tried to locate any references on the NA web site without success.

Has anyone chanced upon details on this raid during their visits to the NA ? Long shot I know.

Kind regards

Steve
