235 Squadron / Tirpitz

On 6 Feb 1943 Sgt RJ Barkham 1317383 and Sgt WA Wilkinson 1319296 were lost when Beaufighter EL405 T/235 failed to return from Ops. It is believed that the aircraft was involved in an attack on or near Tirpitz, if not, what were 235 Squadron doing on that day?

Hi Peter,

They actually took off at 14:05 hrs on the 5th from Leuchars and were tasked with a recce flight.
