    Hi Alain,

Dave Balchin was the rear gunner on this aircraft. The ABC operator was 1876107 Sgt Hans Heinz Schwarz, who, alongside W/Op J89961 P/O John French Andrews was killed when this aircraft crashed at Barver, Germany. Schwarz only used the name "Blake" on this op. On others the ORB lists him as "Schwarz"

Clem Pearce is also listed as RAAF. He was RCAF.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Hello Dave ,

Thanks once again for the reply , perhaps a typo but the CWGC gives J/89901 as the number off P/O Andrews. You mentioned also that the aircraft crashed in Germany , according to the info i got some time ago from a friend the aircraft came down near Wardin a village near Bastogne Belgium.Andrews ans Schwarz are also buried in Heverlee Belgium.

    Hi Alain,

    Typo on my part.

It's all explained here but simply, the Americans disinterred Schwarz and Andrews and moved them some 300 miles to Belgium.

I have the documents should you need them.

    Dave
