    Default W/C C M Windsor - Beaufighter IIF R2398 255 Sqn 8-12-41

    Hi all:

I am currently cleaning a bag of parts from the crash site of 255 Sqn Beaufighter IIF R2398 in which W/C C M Windsor, CO of the unit was killed along with WOp Sgt G P F Langdon, when they crashed at Hevingham, Norfolk on 8 Dec 1941. I have had the pieces since a visit to the site in 1983. I have most of the details on the crash, but I was wondering whether anyone could kindly provide a few more details on W/C Windsor's RAF service before he took over 255 Squadron?

    TIA for any assistance.

Yes - rather embarrassingly I did a search with Mr Google 5 minutes after posting this and found the 2007 posts on the old RAFC forum. It occurs to me that W/C Windsor's son - if he is still around - might be interested in seeing (and perhaps having) the pieces from the Beaufighter his father lost his life in.

    Must try harder next time!
