For starters, Arthur Whitten-Brown was the only son of Sir Arthur Whitten-Brown, K.B.E., who was the Navigator in the 1919 Atlantic Crossing flight with Sir John William Alcock K.B.E. D.S.C.

Pilot F/Lt Whitten-Brown was killed in Mosquito FB Mk. VI NT122 on June 6th 1944, aged 22, along with his Navigator F/Lt Victor George Brewis, aged 28 (I think he must be 'Brewes UG' in your list). They were on an intruder mission to Leeuwarden, and the Mosquito crashed into the Ijsselmeer at around 02.00.

    Regards

    Simon
