    Default P/O R.P. Vatcher (J21798), 412 Sqn

    Hi all,
P/O Robert Phillips Vatcher (J21798), an American with RCAF.

28.6.1944 – He was in Bény-sur-Mer, France and flew his last op with No.412 (RCAF) Sqn :

29.6.1944 – He was KOAS and buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery.
Unfortunately, in the ORB there is nothing.

What caused the death of him?

    Best regards

    Hello,

Allison & Hayward in "They Shall Grow Not Old" (p.782), state that P/O R. P. Vatcher RCAF, was killed when his Spitfire (LF.IX) MH885 crashed at Lashenden, Kent, on 29 June, 1944. Consistent with his death being registered in Ashford, Kent.

    Hi,

The Certificate of Registration of Death only states that he was 'Killed in flying accident'.
