Hi Alan,
HQ Coastal Command standard forms - similar in use to Bomber Command Lettered Forms.
Ross
I was looking at the NA catalogue earlier for the file reference for the 1 PRU ORB and noticed that as well as a single reference covering a significant block of time (AIR 29/414) there are then a series of references each covering a couple of months and they are titled Forms Mauve, Forms Green, Forms Orange, Forms White and Forms Yellow. These all cover the same period of time from the formation of the unit to late summer 1941. Does anyone know what these AIR 29 files actually contain?

So the sort of form you'd normally find in the appendices of an ORB? Odd they were all separated into different file references though.

Form Green is Operstional Order and Form Orange Sortie Report.
As the PRU was single aircraft/single task instead of the common Form 540/541 the ORB is mostly in manuscript format.
In places the scribe got bored with listing the detail longhand and did a cut and paste of Form Green followed by Form Orange and omitted the write up which usually referred to the Appendix.

Ross
