I am investigating about the spitfire MK V b ER 139 of the 5 R.F.U., lost in accident in Italy on September, 11, 1944.
The pilot, 2nd Lt E.G.WATERS, S.A.A.F., seconded to the R.A.F., was K.I.A.
I would like to find out WHERE exactly this spit crashed: near Cremona, Po river valley????

The S.A.A.F. Historical Branch suggested me to contact British sources...
What is the meaning of R.F.U.? Royal Fim Unit????
