Could W. S. Karkner be Wallace Stephen Carkner?

His brother Clifford McCormick Carkner was killed whilst serving in the RCAF (Hudson T9378, 6 (C)OTU):

Thank you both for your quick responses. I will have to check on the Karkner/Carkner spelling I'm sure that he is with a K in the ORB.

Is there an easy way of finding them?

    Regards

    Richard,

Many thanks, can I ask where you find the information? I have a lot more and would love to be able to work my way through them without having to bother others. For example:

    J-13808 FO B A G Campbell RCAF Navigator - arrived 78 Squadron early 1943 and was taken prisoner 05.05.43

    J-38341 FO A W Cashman RCAF Navigator - arrived 78 Squadron 23.11.44 from 74 Base

R-122801 Sgt D R Chiswell RCAF Air Gunner - date arrived 78 Squadron not know, taken POW 05.03.43

Thanks again to all who have posted

Hi Daz. There commissioning number J-??? is found in the Canada Gazette along with their full name and previous R-number. Its not very searchable and some pages are hard to read.

    Daz,

    POWs are the easiest.

https://collections.warmuseum.ca/war...ryE.php?lang=0 Make sure you put the start date 5 weeks after loss.
