    Default Floyd Williston passes

Floyd Williston of Winnipeg, Canada, who previously published, "Through Footless Halls of Air" on airmen from the Maritime Provinces of Canada killed in WWII, passed away on 28 December 2015. Floyd was an initial contributor to this forum. He leaves an unpublished manuscript on >100 Canadians who flew in the Battle of Britain. Efforts are being made by aviation interests to gather his research material for preservation and potential book production.

Thank you Norman - sad news

Rest in Peace Floyd - I sincerely hope that somebody will keep his work alive by arranging for the manuscript to be published.

    Sad news, Norman

I had a lot of contact with Floyd in the past and did a number of look-ups for him during my visits to Kew. I had wondered what had become of him in recent years, though, and had noted his absence from the forum.

    May he rest in peace.

Sad news for me too :(

Floyd had been so instrumental years ago when I searched for Lancaster LL643 , which culminated in a memorial to the missing crew .

    Rest in Peace Floyd .

Very sorry to hear that, indeed. A very nice guy. Blue skies!
