Back in 2002 a post was made asking about lost aircrew on this operation in 1943 which saw 295 squadron towing gliders to North Africa ahead of the Sicily operations Ladbroke and Glutton. My dad was a navigator then and survived, still going today at 93. I recently retrieved his operational logbooks which record his flights that may hold points of interest to anyone whose family members served through the months May to July 43. I also have some photographs from his Pilot, for example of the mission board from Ladbroke which shows how many pilots and crew failed to return that day. I also now have my dad's navigation logs from the flights to Sicily, with some maps of the drop zones. If there is any interest out there I can share any thing from this record that is relevant.
