    Hi,
Eugeniusz Guziak is my ancestor. I'm looking for any information about him. Jim, do you know anything?

    Hi Kasia,

I am just starting my research into Eugeniusz so hope to do quite a bit of research into him, he may have been involved in a crash near my home town during his training. I would very much like to hear from you. I am looking for photos if possible and I am currently awaiting some information from the RAF Museum about his crash.

I believe Eugeniusz had a brother, Tadeusz Jan Guziak, who also served in WWII, I am not sure which brother was involved in the crash.

Can you contact me via email, I believe this can be done by clicking on my profile.

Looking forward to hearing from you. I am happy to share anything I currently have or proceed to get during my research.

    Jim

    Hello,

Re: P-2651/793988 P/O Tadeusz Jan GUZIAK PAF. The following is known:

    Spitfire Vb EP491 "ALBERTVILLE"

Allocated to No.61 Operational Training Unit at Rednal on 13 August (1944). On 4 December EP491 ran into stationary EP757 on the perimeter track awaiting take-off, both Plt Off J.J.Guziak* [sic] in EP491 and Sgt L.Burchard in EP757 being unhurt. EP757 was declared Category E, while EP491 was declared Category Ac, and was repaired on site by 28 December.

    See:
    Gifts of War.
    Boot,Henry & Ray Sturtivant.
    Tonbridge:Air-Britain(Historians),2005.
    p.40

    * Presumably, P/O Tadeusz Jan GUZIAK.

    Default Canadian connection

When my father passed several years ago, I found an envelope of information relating to F/O E.K Guziak including a Polish ID card, his RAF pilot's log, numerous news clippings and an eurailpass for Louise Guziak dated Apr 1976.

Eugeniuz and my father, George Moore - former RCAF Security Officer- obviously crossed paths at some point but I have no idea of reason or context.

I would be very happy to share documents and any details. Please reach me through email and we can discuss.
