    401Sqn were based at B.4 Beny-sur-Mer on 28 June.

    No. 401 Squadron moved to France on June 18, 1944: B-4 Bény-sur-Mer was the first continental ALG from which the unit provided support for ground troops. The 'Rams' moved to B-18 Cristot in August, then B-88 Heesch (Netherlands) and B-116 Wunstorf (Germany) in the following months.
