    Default 415 Sq/119 Sq July 1944

Good Morning. I am looking to see if anyone may know the code letter/ serial numbers for the Albacores transferred to 119 Sq. 415 Sq Orb only mention the code letter in their ORB. I am hoping the 119 Sq Orb may have both.

    Thanks, Richard

Hello Simon and Bruce. Thanks for the prompt reply. The last known is for June 30,1944 showing them holding 21 Albacores. The July Orb shows them holding 21 Halifax III as they had moved to 6 Group.

    Hello,

Might be worth taking a look at Michael Bowyer's, "Aircraft For The Many" (p.300) He provides a listing of 18 Albacores on strength of 415 (RCAF) Sqn on 5 June, 1944, all with handover dates (to 119 Sqn), of 25 July 1944. There are a few (5), on the listing, not mentioned by Simon.

    Col.
