Default George ‘grumpy’ unnwin dso dfm

I am trying to find out more about Grumpy's posting as an instructor after the B of B service.
Has anyone looked at the less glamorous service of this famous Pilot. Any knowledge of this area of his life would be most welcome if known. I understand he took his dog with him but that's not a surprise.

If you are able to add to my request, thank you.

Unwin, DSO and DFM & Bar was born on 18 Jan 13 and was commissioned on 31 Jul 41, promoted Wg Cdr on 1 Jan 54 and retired from the RAF on 18 Jan 61.

I know that does not help your direct question but it might be useful as to his later involvement.

There's nice obit for him published in the Daily Telegraph after his death (well it would be wouldn't it) at the age of 93. This summarises his career nicely, if briefly. It's available via Wiki.
