    Default Colin Roy Hewlett VR-748732/69438

    Hello again,
Could anyone please help with the DOB of CR Hewlett. He came from Bristol and later lived at Muller Road, Ashley Down.
Parents Marshal William and Daisy Beatrice Hewlett. Does anyone know where he did his VR flying before the war was declared please.
    Many thanks,
    Roy

The Western Daily Press of October 31st 1942 reports the award of his D.F.C., and states that he enlisted in the R.A.F.V.R. for training as a pilot on 1939, and was commissioned in June 1941. He was promoted to Flt-Lt. in May, 1942. As Peter already said, the article reports that he was born in Bristol in 1920, and adds that he was educated at Cotham Secondary School in the city.

    Regards

    Simon
