Default 260 Sqn Kittyhawk losses 6 Sep 43

    Morning,

Does anyone know any details about of supposed losses sustained by 260 Sqn on 6 September 1943? If I believed A-B register FA100-FZ999, two Kittyhawk IIs were lost that day, FL241 and FL242 (one shot down by Bf109s, the other damaged in combat and SOC).

Sadly, my copy of the ORG I get, Form 540 and Form 541 pages for that day are missing so I cannot check anything. Another point of interest, is the Mark involved, Mk. II while the 260 is normally flying on Mk. III since May. As the Mk. II and Mk. III were using two different engines, it seems strange to see two Mk. IIs still flying with the unit and only that day actually as the previous and following days, the ORB reports only Mk. IIIs!

    Thanks for helping

    Phil
