    Default 40232 John Henry KYNOCH

    I Know Jack that he was co of 97 Squadron and i believe he either came from or went to 38 Squadron can any or has any one come across him anywhere else i am sure he was flying Mosquitoes at some point any help would be greatly appreciated

    The Western Mail of November 21st 1941 reports the award of his D.F.C, stating that he was an Acting Squadron Leader with 83 Sqn:

    "Acting Squadron Leader Kynoch was born at Cardiff in 1912. His home is at Looe, Cornwall. He was educated at Grange School, Shorncliffe, and Shrewsbury School. He was commissioned in 1937. He was promoted Acting Squadron Leader in June, 1941."

    The undermentioned are granted short service commissions as Acting Pilot Officers on probation with effect from and with seniority of 24th Oct. 1937: —

    no doubt its the right Kynoch when i was working for him at his house he ha a Photo album from the wartime with many pictures of downed Mosquitoes many with him standing besides but cant remember if it was his aircraft or others its realy which Squadron did he come from and where did he go to from 97 Squadron
