Default Francis Ronald Maguire (pilot 619 Sqn)

Could anyone provide any details on the above chap,

It is understood that he was with 619 sqn and also served in India.

I am seeking the usual Rank, serial number etc.
and if possible, names of his regular crew.

    Regards

    Chris

The London Gazette has his service number(s) here - see '16th May 1944' entry, left hand column:

    Hi Chris,

From 619 The History of a forgotten squadron-

Arrived 619 on 12.06.44 and completed tour Dec 44?............question mark in book.

One mention I can see in text is of Sgt L C Rennie, regular Flight Engineer, wounded in arm by shrapnel during attack on Deelen airfield 3.09.44 and treated in Rauceby Hospital. PB356 PG-G.
    regards peter

    Simon, Peter & Peter,

Thank you so much, this is the chap.

If there is anything else it would be much appreciated.
Is there any record of the regular W/Op?

F/Off Maguire's son has been staying with me a few days.

    Regards

    Chris

    Chris,
The Enlisted Number (1554342) indicates he Enlisted somewhere between Apr - Oct 1941 (my guess is around Jul 1941?). The Enlistment Number Block (1425001-1649900) was allocated to various Recruiting Centres in UK. I couldn't find his DoB which may (or may not!) indicate whether he lied about his age when he became due to be Called Up. Some did in order to avoid being Enlisted in the Army!!! Has his son got his father's Service Record? This is a MUST to start with!!

1622510 (same number block but Enlisted nearer Oct 1941) Joseph James HURST Cmd (183776). The LG is ‘playing up’, but you might be able to chase J J Hurst’s Cmd service from yr end (using 183776).
