Default 98 squadron loss of 8 May 1945

    Hi All

I seach the number of a a B25 Mitchell 98 squadron and its target.

On 8 May 1945 the aircraft was damaged by flak after attacking the target (The nose was blown off) and crashed in flames in a field at Cambron (near Abbeville)

    The crew:

    Wing Commander RFK Bell-Irving
    Flying Officer CLM Forsyth (DFC-DFM)
    Flying Officer VC PHIPPS
    Flight Sergeant KJ WHITE

All are dead and buried in the cemetery of Abbeville

    Thank for your help

    It was May 8th 1944, not 1945.

2nd Tactical Air Force, Volume 1 by Shores and Thomas, page 103 has the following:

Mitchell II FW109 D, shot down by flak at around 17.55 hours 5 miles South of Abbeville (Bois Coquerel)
