    Default Blenheim L8780 110 Squadron 1 August 1940

    Hi guys

I'm seeking first names or initials of L8780's crew: Sgts Hards, Cashman and Dunleavy.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers
    Brian

Cashman's and Hands' service numbers are here:

    http://www.156squadron.com/101Sqn/di...1940&monthz=06

    Cashman - 581498
    Hands - 742129

    and Dunleavy's is here:

    http://www.156squadron.com/101Sqn/di...1940&monthz=10

    Dunleavy - 618345

So, with their service numbers, a quick Google brings up Simon Michael Cashman. See:

    as well as

    and Alfred Scott Dunleavy, see:

    Regards

    Simon

    Many thanks Simon

However, I am having difficulty in finding the pilot's details - Hards or Hands - as the number 742129 apparently belonged to another!

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Gents,

The pilot is 742199 Maurice Sydney Hards. His is the only service number anywhere near '742129' in all the Hards on AIR 78. It appears he went to the Middle East in 1941 and flew as a fighter pilot, becoming an ace that year. He was awarded the DFM in April 1942 and was commissioned that April.

My thanks to you all for this thread as I had been unable to find the first names or service numbers for any of this crew !

    Regards,

    Martin Gleeson.
