Col.
Found an official report that Turnhouse were ordered to investigate X91 with care as it may be a Whitley, on 30 October 1940, at 11.00 hrs.
Later it was reported that at 11.09 hrs the final vector was given to Red Sect. 232 in connection with Raid X91.
At 11.14 Red Leader confirmed it was a Whitley and Red Leader, a Section of Hurricanes gave chase claiming there was black smoke coming from the Whitley's engines, caught the Whitley up and challenged it with dummy attacks. The correct colours of the period were fired and the aircraft disappeared, tracked by the Observer Corps through Durham, York & Leeds and appears to have been lost.
F.C. suggest that CB (late X91) now in Q.Z.01 be politely forced ...
The Squadron markings on the aircraft UO-G but any other information, including ORBs about the X plot/Whitley incident, its crew and where it Landed or Crashed please?
Seems UO was 19 OTU?
Red Sect. 232, I presume was 232 Squadron?
Thanks Mark

Thanks Col, but for UO-G it only gave me later Z and an LA prefixed Serials (Z6739 and LA792).
However, incident occurred 30 October 1940.
Amended the thread title for ORB information.
