Arstall, Thomas Rambler - LAC - 1046394 - the Manchester Evening News of November 17th 1945 reported the following:

    Canal Victim
The man found in the Bridgwater Canal at Particroft, Salford, on Thursday, has been identified as Thomas Bamber Arstall, aged 43, of Liverpool Street, Particroft.

Little, Arthur - LAC - 1415380 - the Evening Despatch of November 19th 1945 reported the following:

    KILLED IN FOG CRASH
Accidental death was the verdict at the inquest today on Arthur George Swain, of 189, Water Orton Road, Castle Bromwich, recently demobilised from the Air Force after ten-and-a-half years' service, who was killed when his motor cycle collided with an Army lorry on Coleshill Road, at the junction of Newport Road, on Thursday last.
George Albert Nicholls (R.A.S.C.), who was driving the lorry, said he was overtaking two cars. It was a foggy morning and the motor cycle seemed to shoot out of the fog.
George Wakefield, of 227, Bradford Road, Castle Bromwich, driver of one of the cars overtaken by Nicholls, said in his opinion the lorry was travelling at 30 m.p.h His own speed was 12-15 m.p.h.

Interestingly, the Birmingham Mail of 19 November also reports the inquest, but adds the following:

The driver of one of the overtaken cars gave the speed of the motor cycle as 12-15 m.p.h., and described the speed of the Army lorry as "excessive in the circumstances."

    Little, Arthur - LAC - not Eng/Wales?
Montgomery, John Henry - Cpl - not Eng/Wales?

The Scotland's People website is down for maintenance until Monday, so I can't check them til then.

A quick update now the Scotland's People site is back up and running:

    Little, Arthur - LAC - not Eng/Wales?
Montgomery, John Henry - Cpl - not Eng/Wales?

Neither of them are on the Scotland's People website register. I did find an Arthur A Little, registered Cardiff, December 1945, aged 45, so a strong possibility.
