    Thornewill and Lemon on L3339


    11.2.40. Henley L3339 of 7 BGS crashed on the rocks at Rest Bay. Both pilot and passenger, F/O J N Thornewill and F/O Reginald Henry Lemon 70391, were killed. Cloud base was 1000 feet and there were fleeting snow showers. The pilot, 39834 Flight Lieutenant John Nicholas Thornewill, R.A.F. lies in Pyle Cemetery, South Wales in Grave 683.
