Default RAF Escape and Evasion documents from Yugoslavia

    Hello,

I am doing research on rescued Allied airmen from Yugoslavia.
More than 2500 airmen were rescued with help of guerrillas (partisans and chetniks).
Through MACRs and Escape statements I have managed to compile detailed list for american airmen.
However, it is more difficult to obtain similar documents for RAF airmen, so it is difficult to make list of rescued RAF airmen.
I estimate that more than 150 RAF airmen were rescued from yugoslavia.

So far I have Escape statements for some 70 RAF airmen (as well as RAAF, SAAF etc). I have some more names through other sources, but they are not in this list.
In some cases it was difficult to read names, so they might be wrongly spelled or marked with ? if impossible to read.
Please note that two Wellington crews that crashed on June 6 and June 14 fell in Italy, but were rescued from Yugoslavia.

If someone is interested in this material, or have data missing here, please let me know.

These are Escape statements of RAF personnel evacuated from Yugoslavia I have so far:

    Hello Peter,
    thank you for data.
I think there are same data in Escape statement, I can check them if necessary.
However, in some case those statements are not readable so it is good to have check.

Hi vathra22. On the spreadsheet provided was name of of my step father, who was shot down 15th April 1945 over Yugoslavia. I am not aware of any escape documents but if you have any info or know where we can get it I would be very interested. His name is Cedric brand. The crash site was located and visited and we have some fragments from the plane.

    Hello Alex,

sorry for late reply, I do not often visit this forum.
Here is your step father's Escape statement.
It was faded and difficult to read, so I had to enhance it.
It is short, but still contains interesting details.

    Merry Christmas!
