    Hi Amrit,

Coogan was with 5 FTS when he was killed. I'll get back you later with the precise details. I may be wrong but i have a feeling he was Jewish as well?

    Cheers, Tom

    Hello again Amrit,

in fact two of them were killed flying from Tern Hill's 5 FTS:

H W H Joseph - killed in Master N7591 which crashed on take off at 0950 hours, 17/12/1940. The aircrafts wings had not been covered by frost covers during the night and resulted in a sluggish take off and then a side slip into the ground at Tern Hill. This pilot was Jewish (not Coogan).

Coogan - Master T8570. Crashed during an overshoot at Driffield (the unit operated a detachment there for a short while). His death is registered in Buckrose which confirms a death near Driffield.

    Hope that helps!

    Tom

    Hi Amrit
If it helps to narrow things down. Reynolds death is registered at Louth, Lincs, Joseph at Whitchurch(I believe the one in Shropshire),Evans at Barnstaple, Coogan at Buckrose, E Yorks., Young at Trowbridge, and Faulkner(spelling change) at Aylesbury
    Regards

Another Australian i have in my records that was serving with the RAF and killed in Shropshire was:
    - LAC Colin Harry John Clements (643076), aged 25, No 10 Squadron, RAF. Son of Harry and Mabel Clements, of South Perth, Western Australia. He is buried in Aireborough (Yeadon) Cemetery, Yorkshire.

He was killed in a motorbike crash near Wem, Shropshire on the 29th September 1942. I'm not sure why he was in Wem? Perhaps someone knows? Perhaps there is a mention of him in 10 Squadrons ORB?

    Cheers, Tom
