Thanks, Paul - pity I'm nowhere near Kew just now...! Not digitised, unfortunately.
Interesting that 15 FTS includes so many training centres.

    Hi Paul

I'm running short of cash - so not an option!!

Will go there when I next fly into LHR (this summer, sometime?) - pity I'm not living in Ealing any more!

    Thanks for your help,

    Jeanne

    Hi Jeanne,

I appear to have some 15 FTS ORB's. What is it that you are looking for and I can take a look for you and e-mail anything of relevance.

    Regards

Thanks - the question is where the crash took place on 12 Feb 1942.:
"LAC (Pilot u/t) L.B.S. Falkiner - 1384158 and LAC P. Cockburn - 1382945, both 15 FTS, were killed when their Oxford V3906 hit HT cables; crashed Laural Farm near Bicester, 1145h"

There's a Laurels Farm close to and E of Bicester and a Laurel Farm not far from, and SW of, Bicester - both close to present-day power lines... So I don't know which is the likely candidate.
A pilot friend said it was likely to have been the under-carriage that caught in the HT lines - and they'd crash almost immediately, as a result.

Thanks very much - if your records can help, that would be fantastic!

The crash site is given as between Boarstall and Brill on the Form 1180. So the named farm closest to Ottmoor.

Nothing to do with landing gear - cause was unauthorised low flying.

    Jeanne,

The ORB adds nothing new but I've sent you the relevant page for your records via e-mail anyway.

    Kind Regards

Thanks a lot for that Ross - sounds far more positive than the ORB record (copy kindly sent to me by Linzee) - almost nothing there, other than time and vague location.
Can you possibly send me a copy of the relevant Form 1180 from which you are getting that info ? Am I correct in understanding that Form 1180 covers specific details on crashes obtained from RAF Form 765 (C)?
