    Default 405 Squadron Wellingtons

    Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction:
Where could I find out how many Wellingtons in 405 Squadron had a given letter designation?
Specifically I am looking at "Y." The ORBs do not specify serial numbers so short of going through each op one by one I wondering if there were any other resources.
I found an undated picture of "Y" (nicknamed Berlin or Bust) in the Squadron and was wondering if it was the same piloted by Higginson in February 1942. (Although that particular entry in the ORB was a bit unclear and I may have mistaken the letter.)
Again, any and all assistance is sincerely appreciated.

Bob. There only seems to one LQ-Y, serial number W-5515 from Jan 1942 to April 1943. Before that W-5515 was coded LQ-R from July 1941 to Dec 1941.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Bill,
That is wonderful. Thank-you very much indeed.
Just so that I do not burden the forum unnecessarily in the future, where can I find such information?
    Thanks again,
    Bob

    G'day Bobby

I can match 31 Mk. II's with full codes and 14 aircraft by call letter only including dates of loss and circumstances.

If you are interested, pm at ccharlandATcogecoDOTca

    Cheers...Chris
