Default Harry Parkinson 1251725 Flying Accident 16 Jan 1941.

Harry Parkinson joined the RAF on 26 May 1940, and as Leading Aircraftsman Service No. 1251725, he was under training as an observer when he was killed in a flying accident on 16 January 1941. The accident was in UK but can't find death registration so probably Scotland. Buried in home town: Pemberton, Wigan. Can anyone supply any further information. Please.

Anson N9736 crashed at Brockworth near Gloucester. The pilot flew into a prohibited area and the aircraft struck a balloon cable at 1500 feet when flying into the sun.

Besides Parkinson the crew was: P/O Mieczyglaw Walenty PSUJA 33, LAC J H L JAMES 21 and Mr K J ENTWHISTLE a civilian instructor

Forgot to mention that the General Manager at Staverton posted on this site a couple of years ago and was trying to find out more about the airfield's history - you could try him.
