    Hello all,

    I'm new to the forums and i was hoping you would help me with finding some information on my Great Uncle, my Gran informs me his a/c was shot down however i'm struggling to find any information.

    Details that i know are:

    Sgt George Ernest Knight
    Serv No: 1817301
    Sqn: 622 Sqn
    Died: 24 Aug 1943

    Hello, and welcome.

    Having had a look in the 1943 edition of the Bomber Command Losses books by Bill Chorley, it seems Sgt Knight died in the crash of Short Stirling BF521 GI-H. There is some information about the Stirling's loss available on this previous post in the Forum:
