Hello,
Hope I'm not exposing astounding ignorance, but CWGC has Dorothy Church's WAAF rank simply as LACW. Not seen a WACW before! Enlightenment would be appreciated!
TIA

The National Probate Calendar has the following for Jennings:
JENNINGS, Jesse William Henry of 28 Almorah Road, Bristol 3, who was last seen alive on 13 December 1945 and whose dead body was found on December 15 1945 at Chatteris, Isle of Ely.
I can't find anything in the papers from the time about the details.
Regards
Simon
Hello Peter,
Thanks for the notice of error.
I have problems with the tablet and sometimes it is long after that I find that my typed word comes up a different word or spelling even when I have checked before sending.
Will correct this one now.
Thanks
Alex
PS
Malcolm, check your entry re WACW should be LACW as Peter has highlighted.
Tks Alex!
I get the same problems with the spelling auto-correct on Windows 10!! It tries to tell me what to do!
I thought that as it had been pasted/posted twice it couldn't have been a simple typo! I was trying to get my head round a Warrant AirCraftWoman!! And I'd never heard of one of those!!
Tks again
Peter Davies

Hi Alex
I just put WACW down as a simple error and didn't mention it as I was in a rush.
I thought Jennings and Church might be linked as they are both registered in March?
Malcolm
Hello,
AUSTRALIA.
127249 LAC John Charles McCAULEY RAAF.
On 13 December, 1945, LAC (Guard) J C McCAULEY RAAF, died from injuries received from a vehicle accident. LAC McCauley was struck by a large truck and a semi-trailer in Normanby Road, Montague, Melbourne, after falling from an RAAF truck after it hit a bump. The RAAF truck continued on its trip, the driver unaware of what had happened to McCauley. Police preferred no charges against the hapless truck driver.
