I am deeply saddened to learn of this. Bill was working with me on two books and he had provided me with masses of information regarding aircraft in Canada. The books, which are part of a four volume series, are making steady progress and the one to which he made a great contribution is with the producer with the aim of publishing very soon.

Very bad news indeed! But his legacy to us all is the work that he did on the RCAF - that will survive.
    RIP Bill

    Ladies & Gentlemen,

I shall be writing to Bill's widow and shall be asking for her permission to dedicate one of the books we were working on to his memory. Furthermore, in expressing my own condolences, I will take the liberty to highlight some of the comments made on this Thread.

As it transpires, after Bill told me of his illness and when it appeared from his comments that he was in remission, he completed a very significant task of updating all the information relating to losses of air force training aircraft in Canada from 1943 to the end of 1945. Of course, I do not know if others will take on his website but I very much hope so as his research and the data he has uploaded might be lost otherwise.
